Networked Skin Project for an interactive façade installation at the Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria, 1994
Internet users were invited to send images to be positioned according to their geographical origin onto a "virtual globe" The virtual globe is projected onto the facade of the building and can be rotated and navigated with the aid of a real globe set into the ground, and moving like a trackball. This 2m diameter interface allows night time passersby to navigate through this virtual portrait of the World Wide Web. |
